The Make Over

Believing that someday they would be their own boss, owner’s John
and Julie Gorzik
Began searching for a small bar to run.
Beaten and discouraged at the rising cost of real estate, they
decided to take a break and get away to the        beautiful
mountains of Big Bear Lake.
Breathtaking views and breezy fresh air was just what they needed.
Biking in the backwoods beyond Big Bear Boulevard they began to
get thirsty and besieged the
Blue Whale restaurant to have a beer.
Before reaching their destination they were
Bewildered by the banner on the Boulevard that read, Blue Whale -
For Sale!

Baffled by what they saw, they decided to banter with the
bartender about why it was being sold.
Banking on the thought of possible ownership they contacted the
seller’s agent, Bonnie Blue.
Badly in need of repair they discussed the background, checks and
balances.
Bottom line was, they saw a bargain, it worked within their
budget, and they made a bid.
Bittersweet about the thought of selling their home and quitting
their jobs they made the decision to
Break-away and start a Brand-new life in Big Bear Lake.

Bound by their decision they Button-downed and
Bare-handedly began re-building.
Backing them was a brigade of friends and family who
joined them to
Bravely barrow through the bleak winter breaking
down the old beams to
Build a badly needed stronger snow bearing
structure.

Based on the fact that summer months bring visitors to the
mountains they
Began opening the Beach Bar on the weekends.
Boaters, bikers, and backpackers alike basked on the
shores and binged on
          Bar-B-Que.
Beyond the fact that is was a benefit for business, it
also
Bestowed them with a bountiful support from Big Bear
Business owners and
Blessed them with a barrage of beaming loyal customers.

Behold,
They needed a name for the restaurant that would beckon customers
to a
Bonafide outdoor family style Bar-B-Que where they would have a
blast and a bellyful of
Baby Back Ribs,
 Burgers and
  Bottles of beer
   Bedecked with a
Band for entertainment both day and evening.
Beach Bar snacks and drinks in the summer.
      Billiards inside the lakeside lounge.
Banquet facilities for weddings and special events.
Bocce Ball tournaments in the park,
           and of course
            Beautiful sunsets.

Bemused by the fact that everything that they
wanted to have in their
                                  Restaurant began with the
letter – B
                                                    They decided
to name it
                                                          -B’s
Backyard Bar-B-Que
People always ask us,
“Why is the restaurant named B’s Backyard Bar-b-que”?
Well, here is a little story that explains the B,
in B’s Backyard Bar-B-Que.
